To get around this, I downloaded an old game I’ve modded before from GOG – Shogo: Mobile Armor Division or Shogo MAD – and downloaded ShogoTools, which includes the LithTech modding tool, Dedit. I had initially wanted to download Sledge and do some messing around in GoldSrc but there were afew barriers I found there, the biggest being licensing. My plan with this is to start from an existing game, build some levels to test things out, and from there perhaps create some t extures and models and continue modding towards a Total Conversion. I haven’t touched this in a long time, and most of my experience comes from modding existing games, rather than building something standalone from scratch. I’ve decided for 2018 I would like to get back into some video game development. Can good level design fix bad game design?
